There were some chocolates in a box .Santosh gave 1/4 of the chocolates to pinki, 1/3 of the chocolates to poonam and 50 chocolates to alpana .How many chocolates we're there in the box?

Let x be the no. of chocolates in the box.
we know that, 1/4x+1/3x+50=x.
further solving, we get the answer as 120.(take LCM)
the no of chocolates in the box is 120.

let there were x chocolates in the box. Santos h gave to pinki =x/4 and to poonam =x/3.then rests chocolates =x-(x/4+x/3)=x-7x/12=5x/12. then alpana got=5x/12.so,5x/12=50 or,x=50×12/5=10×12=120. there were 120 chocolates in the box.
