Hi there!
Here's the answer:

•°•°•°•°•°<><><<><>><><>°•°•°•°•°•°

¶ x% of y = (xy)/100

SOLUTION:

Given,
5% of the voters did not cast their votes
Remaining 95% [i. e., (100 - 5)%] of people casted votes

Winner got 48% votes
=> Remaining 47% [(95 - 48)%] of votes for candidate lost in election

Let total No. of votes be x

As per the given data,
48% of x - 47% of x = 1500
1% of x = 1500
(1/100)x = 1500
=> x = 150000

•°• Total Votes casted = 150000

Votes casted to Winner = 48% of x
= (48/100)×x
= (48/100) × 1500000
= 72000

•°• Total votes casted to winner = 72000

•°•°•°•°•°<><><<><>><><>°•°•°•°•°•°

Hope it helps
