x ² - 3x = 10 ( split the middle term)
∴ x ² - 5x- 2x- 10 ( regroup)
= x( x - 5) +2 ( x - 5 )
= (x+2) ( x - 5)
therefore the possible numbers are 2 and (-5)
∴ x ² - 5x- 2x- 10 ( regroup)
= x( x - 5) +2 ( x - 5 )
= (x+2) ( x - 5)
therefore the possible numbers are 2 and (-5)

the value of x is 5. As square of 5 is 25 and 3 times 5 is 15 .25-15=10
