(i) let number be x 

according to sum ,

x+ 5/16  = 1 3/8

x + 5/16 = 11/8

x = 11/8-5/16 

x =  22-5 /16 = 17/16


(ii) ;let number be x

according tot he sum

4-x = 2 5/13

4 - x = 31/13

x = 31/13  - 4

- x = 124-208/ 52

-x = - 84/52 =cco - 42/26 = - 21/13 

x = -21/13

(iii) let number be = x

according to the sum ,
x - 3 7/12= 5/6

x - 43/12 = 5/6

x = 5/6 + 43/12  = 10 + 43 / 12

x = 53 / 12
