The sentence type is a compound sentence.

Compound and Complex sentences are usually accompanied by conjunctions. These conjunctions can be used as coordinators or subordinators. If used as coordinators the sentence will be compound in nature and if used as subordinators it will be complex.

• A coordinator is used to join two independent clauses or sentences.
• However, a subordinator is used to join inter-dependent clauses\sentences.
• In the above example, the conjunction 'and' is used to combine two different and independent sentences.
• The two sentences 'this house is two expensive' & 'that house is two small' do not have any dependence on each other.
• Thus it will be a compound sentence.
