BaCl2 + CuSO4 -----> BaSO4 + CuCl2

2Cu + O2 -----> 2CuO

2FeSO4 ----> Fe2O3 + SO2 + SO3

Fe + CuSO4 -----> FeSO4 + Cu

CaO + H2O -----> Ca(OH)2

  1. BaSO4 is the white precipitate
  2. CuO is the black colour observed
  3. Fe2O3 is the reddish brown solid and the smell of burning sulpher is due to the fumes of SO2 and SO3
  4. Blue coloured CuSO4 becomes pale green coloured FeSO4
