Order does NOT matter when multiplying. In the example above the question, 2*4 and 4*2 equal the same thing. Another example of how when multiplying numbers, order doesn't matter is when multiplying  5 and 3. Whether you do 5*3 or 3*5, you will still get the same answer. So, when multiplying numbers, the order does NOT matter.
