here ' area of shaded region= area of rectangle ABCD -( area of right angled triangle ADF + area of right angled triangle FCE + area of right angled triangle ABE )

Now area of triangle ADF = 1/2 × AD × DF

= 1/2 × 12 × 15 =90cm2

similarly area of triangle FCE = 1/2 × 12 × 8 = 48cm2

and area of triangle ABE = 1/2 × 24 ×7= 84cm2

now area of whole rectangle = length × breadth

= 15 × 24 cm2 = 360cm2

therefore area of shaded region = 360cm2 - ( 90 + 48 + 84 )cm2

= 360cm2- 222cm2 =138 cm2

hence option 3rd is correct
