Answers
You can either use the following conversation for your ASL task 3 or formulate your own taking ideas from it:
Student A: Hey where have you been? I looked for you everywhere! There is something important I want your opinion on.
Student B: I was at accounts office depositing my examination fee. What has happened?
Student A: You know, last week we had Inter-House debate competition. You also know that Shobha, my partner forgot her debate due to which we could not win the debate competition. She has been feeling really depressed since then!
Student B: Yes, I remember very clearly. If she had done proper preparation and rehearsal, our House would definitely have won the competition. But that is over now. Everyone has forgotten!
Student A: That’s true! She must learn the required lesson and move ahead. Crying over the spilt milk is not a healthy attitude.
Student B: I think we need to talk to her. We need to tell her winning and losing are parts of life. We win if we do the proper preparation. That must be done before the competitions; not afterwards!
Student A: We must also tell her failures are the best lessons in our life. Our failures are our stepping stones provided we have the right attitude!
Student B: We must tell her all great personages about whom we study and who inspire us faced failures. Abraham Lincoln, Helen Keller, Einstein, William Douglas, etc. all faced failures.
Student A: We must tell her it is not the end of it! There will be more such competitions in which she can take part and prove her worth.
Student B: All she needs is reorient and refocus her energies and practice and practice. Let’s go to her and motivate her.
Student A: Sure, all she needs is putting her perspective in the right direction and let go the past!
