37/4 = y - 4/3

bring on 1 side

37/4 + 4/3 = y

make the denominatior common

111+16 /12 = y

127/12 = y

y = 10.583

2) 5x/3 + 2/5 = 1

make denominator common

25x + 6 / 15 = 1

25x + 6 = 15

25x = 15 - 6

25x = 9

x = 9/25 or 0.36

3) x/2 + x/3 + x/4 = 13

make denominator common

6x + 4x + 3x / 12 = 13

13x / 12 = 13

13 * x = 12 * 13

x = 12
