a body is floating in a liquid the net force on the body is zero because the force exerted by the atmospheric pressure is equal to the force exerted by buoyancy force .hence the body float in water .

➡️There are two main forces that act on a floating body. These two forces are:

➡️Gravitational force and Buoyancy force or upthrust.

➡️An object floats on a fluid when the gravitational force is equal or less than the upthrust force.

The weight of the water displace is equal to the upthrust acting on the body.
