The use of fertilisers is discouraged due to their harmful effects such as:
contamination of ground water for eg: nitrogen fertilisers.
pollution of water sources like river.
Overuse Of fertilisers increases soil acidification, damaging the top soil and making soil unfit for planting crops .
leads to depletion of minerals thus food produced contain less vitamins.

The biggest issue facing the use of chemical fertilizers is groundwater contamination. Nitorgen fertilizers break down into nitrates and travel easily through the soil. Because it is water-soluble and can remain in groundwater for decades, the addition of more nitrogen over the years has an accumulative effect. One popular fertilizer, urea, produces ammonia emanation, contributes to acid rain, groundwater contamination and ozone depletion due to release of nitrous oxide by denitrification process.

pls give it a brainliest ans..
