lets consider length of one of the sides as 'x'

two sides of an isosceles triangle are of the same length

perimeter of a triangle =sum of all sides

therefore,
perimeter=sum of all sides
32=12 +x + x
32=12 + 2x
32-12=2x
20=2x
20 ÷2=x
x=10


check the picture for the calculation of area
AREA = 48
