The idea of De-Sanskritisation was given by M.N Srinivas or Mysore Narsimachara Srinivas.

M.N Srinivas is the fmaous Indian Socialigist and he coined the term De-Sanskritisation in his book "Religion and Society among the Croogs of South India." In this book he discussed De-Sanskritisation whereby lower caste and communities trying to raise their social status by adopting the traits of Brahmans or upper castes.
