Employee appraisal is the process by which an organisation measures and records, each employee’s performance in the organisation. Three reactions from employees are – satisfaction, surprise, anger.

Those who get favourable ranking in their appraisal, are satisfied or happy. Some may be surprised to learn what the management thinks of their performance and strive to improve or maintain it. It is not surprising to see anger when appraisal result is negative.
