Answer:

50 seconds.

Step-by-step explanation:

We first need to get the time each takes to complete one lap.

Time = Distance / Speed.

We convert the distance to meters.

1 km = 1000 meters.

Anuj = 1000/20 = 50 seconds

Ankit = 1000/40 = 25 seconds

Anshul = 1000/60 = 50/3 seconds

We need to get the LCM of the three numbers.

Given that we have a fraction among the numbers we need to use a formula to get the LCM.

Given two factions a/b and c/d their lcm will be :

(lcm of a, c) / (HCF of b, d )

We apply this as follows :

50/1, 25/1, 50/3

LCM = (LCM 25,50,50) / (HCF 1,1, 3)

The LCM of 25, 50 and 50 = 50

The HCF of 1, 1, 3 = 1

The LCM of the three numbers is thus:

50/1 = 50

It therefore takes the three athlete 50 seconds to meet again.
