Three blocks of masses m1, m2, and m3, are connected by
massless strings as shown on a frictionless table. They are
pulled with a force T3 = 40 N. Ifm1, = 10 kg, m2 = 6 kg and
m3 = 4 kg, the tension T2 will be

Answer:

The answer will be 32 N

Explanation:

According to the figure,  three blocks are connected with each other.

There is no friction on the surface,

Therefore, the net acceleration of the system,a will be,

force/m1+m2+m3 = 40/(10+6+4)= 40 /20 = 2

Now from the figure we can see that the for block m3  a force of 40 is acting and tension T2 is also action on opposite direction.

Therefore,

f- T2 = m3a

40 - T2 = 4 x 2

T2= 32 N
