Let the cost of one chair be x.

Let the cost of one table be y

According to the question,

  • 3x+2y=700 ...........(1)

  • 5x+3y=1100 ...........(2)

Multiply (1) with 3 and (2) with 2 and subtract

  • 9x+6y=2100

  • 10x+6y=2200 / −x+0=−100

  • x=100 substitute in (1)

  • 3(100)+2y=700

  • 300+2y=700

  • 2y=400

So, the total cost of 2 chairs and 3 tables will be

  • =2×100+3×200

  • =200+600=Rs. 800

Hence, this is the answer.
