Three circuits, each consisting of a switch 'S' and two capacitors, are initially charged, as shown in the figure. After the switch has been closed, in which circuit will the charge on the left-hand capacitor (i) increase, (ii) decrease and (iii) remains same ? Give reasons.

When the capacitors are in parallel, the V should also be the same.

Q= CV

Thus, v= q/c

Same for each The charge on the left hand capacitor will increase in circuit 2 The charge on the left hand capacitor will decrease in circuit 3 The charge on the left hand capacitor will remain the same in circuit 1
