Three couples are seated in a straight on 6 chairs .in how many ways can they be seated if each couple is to sit together

1 by 1.......in 6 chairs

Answer 2

we have 3 pairs i.e. 3 men and 3women and A/Q pairs to b seated together

so arrangement of 3 pairs = 3!

now  men and women can b seated on 2 chairs in 2! ways

therefore total ways = 3!2! = 6 . 2 = 12 ways
