LENTICELS : - Lenticels are the aerating pores formed in the stem and root during secondary growth.

STOMATA:- Stomata are the small pores present in the leaves and stems in their epidermal layers. They are meant for gaseous exchanges for respiration and photosynthesis.

LENTICELS : - The lenticels appear as raised oval areas on the bark or stem surface as seen in the above diagram( A) Under extremely cold conditions lenticels get plugged with closing cells.

STOMATA: They also allow water transpiration.
