Solution :-

Given : Three drums of capacities 165 litres, 195 litres and 240 litres are to be filled from a tank by using a mug.

Find the largest capacity of the mug :

Prime factors of 165, 195 and 240 are

165 = 3 × 5 × 11

195 = 3 × 5 × 13

240 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 5

HCF of 165, 195 and 240 = 3 × 5 = 15

Hence,

The largest capacity of the mug = 15 litres

Answer :

15 litres

Step By Step Explanation :

Given :

Three drums of capacities 165 litres, 195 litres and 240 litres are to be filled from a tank by using a mug.

Here, The largest capacity of the mug is the H.C.F. of 165 litres, 195 litres and 240 litres.

Now, 165 = 3 × 5 × 11

         195 = 3 × 5 × 13

        240 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 5

 HCF = 3 × 5 = 15

Hence, The required largest capacity of the mug is 15 litres.
