These three factors are:-

1. How the people see their identity - If people see their identity in exclusive and partisan terms, it becomes very difficult to accommodate social divisions. If people realise that they have multiple identities and their identity is complementary to the national identity, social divisions become easier to accommodate.

2. How the politicians raise the demands - if the politicians raise the demands in such a way that they cannot be accommodated under one Constitutional framework or is at the cost of another community, social divisions become hard to accommodate.

3. How the government responds to the demands - if the government accepts the reasonable demands of the minorities, social divisions have a positive outcome in politics. However, if the government do not accept the demands in the name of national unity, the result can actually be the opposite.,
