The time at which will they next flash together is 9:18 A.M

Given: Three lighthouses flash their light every 15 seconds, 12 seconds, and 18 seconds.

They flash together at 9:15 A.M.

To Find: Time at which will they next flash together

Solution:

It is said that the lighthouses individually flash at 15 seconds,12 seconds, and 18 seconds respectively. So, the time interval in which they will flash together is                  = LCM of ( 15, 12, 18 )

                                   = ( 2×2×3×3×5 ) seconds

                                   = 180 seconds = 3 minute

It is said that they together flash at 9:15 A.M, next they'll flash after 3 minutes.

                                   = 9:15 A.M + 3 minutes

                                   = 9:18 A.M

Hence, the time at which will they next flash together is 9:18 A.M
