2:3:4 =54
2x+3x+4x =54
9x=54
x=54/9
x=6

now put the value of x in 2x,3x,4x
2x= 2*6
=12
3x=3*6
=18
4x=4*6
=24

The Three numbers are in the ratio 2 : 3 : 4 are 12, 18, 24.

Solution

let each number be x then , according to ratio these numbers would be

First number = 2x

second number = 3x

Third number = 4x

ATQ, THEIR SUM IS 54.

ATQ(according the question )

So , Sum of 2x + 3x + 4x = 54

⇒ 9x = 54

⇒ x = 54/9

⇒ x=6

Therefore required number are as

put x value on the numbers,

∴ First number = 2x

⇒ 2×6

⇒12

∴Second number = 3x

⇒3 × 6

⇒18

∴ Third number = 4x

⇒4 × 6

⇒24

Hence , all the three number are 12, 18, 24.

In short term solution:

  1. add the ratios together i.e. 2+3+4=9
  2. divide 54/9=6 i.e. that is the basic ratio unit
  3. multiply the ratios by the unit, so numbers are 12:18:24 i.e. 2x6:3x6:4x6
