Three particles A, B and C are projected from the same point with same initial speeds making angles 30°, 45° and 60° respectively with the horizontal. Which of the following statements is correct?(a) A, B and C have unequal ranges(b) Ranges of A and C are equal and less than that of B(c) Ranges of A and C are equal and greater than that of B(d) A, B and C have equal ranges

Solution

Given,

particles A, B and C square measure projected from an equivalent purpose with same initial speeds creating angles 30°, 45° and 60°

RA = (u∧2 sin60°)/g = √3/2 u∧2/g

RB = (u∧2 sin90°)/g = u∧2/g

Rc = (u∧2 sin120°)/g = √3/2 u∧2/g

Ranges A and C square measure equal however but that of B.

Answer:

(B) is correct.

TRICK

If two bodies thrown at same speed at angles such that their sum =π/2

That is angle of A((30 )+ C (60 ) = 90

then both of them will have the same range, so A and C will have same range.

                              opt a incorrect

Also the range is maximum when angle of projection is 45

                        Option c and d incorrect
