let the 3 friends get x,2x and 7x respectively.

Given :  Three partners of a firm divide the profit of $1500 among themselves in the ratio 1:2:7

To find :  biggest share of the profit

Solution:

Three partners of a firm divide the profit of $1500 among themselves in the ratio 1:2:7.

Each share of profit  =  ( share / total Share )  * Total Profit

one share :  (1/(1 + 2 + 7 ) ) * 1500  =  150 $

second share   (2/(1 + 2 + 7 ) ) * 1500  =  300 $

third share    (7/(1 + 2 + 7 ) ) * 1500  =  1050 $

1050 is maximum in these

Hence biggest share of profit = $ 1050
