Let's assume total amount of work to be done is X.
Therefore 3 workers in 8 days can do ‘X/2’
1 worker in 1 day can do ‘X/48’
Now since one worker leaves after 8 days amount of work he did is ‘X/6’ [ X/48 × 8 ]
Let other two work for ‘t’ days,
X/6 + X/48 ×t + X/48 ×t = X
Solving this we get t = 20 days.
