three pieces of timber 42, metre 49 metre and 633 metre have to be divided into planks of the same length what is the greatest possible length of each plank ? how much planks are formed .​

To get this we have to find the HCF of the lengths so as we proceed

633=49×12+45

49=12×4+1

12=4×3+0

now lets procced with 42

42=14×3+0

hence the HCF(633,49,42)=3

so the greatest possible length is 3 metre
