Three positive numbers x, y, z are in the ratio 2:3:5if x^2/2+ y^2/2 +z^2/2=684 find values of x, y, z

Answer:

x, y, z are proportional to 2, 3, 5

x = 2b, y = 3b, z = 5b

Sum of x, y, z = 100

10b = 100

b = 10

∴ x = 20, y = 30

y = ax-10

30 = 20a-10

∴ a = 2
