Three prizes were distributed. The value of second price is 5/6 of the value of first prize and the value of third prize is 4/5 of second prize. If total value of three prizes is 450rs find value of each prize.

Then,

Value of second prize=5x/6

Value of third prize=4/5*5x/6

=20x/30

x+5x/6+2x/3=450

2x+3x/2=450

5x=900

x=₹ 180

Hence,

Cost of first prize= ₹180

Cost of second prize= (5/6*180) = ₹150

Cost of third prize= (2/3*180) =₹ 120
