Three resistances A, B and C have values 3R, 6R and R
respectively. A and B are in parallel connection and they both together are in series connection with C .When some potential diff. is applied across
the network the power dissipated by A, B and C are in ratio:
(A) 2:3:4
(B) 2:4:3
(C) 4:2:3
(D) 3:2:4

The ratio between three resistances is 4 : 2: 3

Option (C)  is correct.

Explanation:

The ratio between three resistance can be calculated as:

P(A : P(B) : P(C)  = (2V)^2 / 3R : (2V)^2/ 6R : V^2 / R

P(A : P(B) : P(C)  = 4/3 : 2/3 : 1

P(A : P(B) : P(C)  = 4 : 2: 3

Thus the ratio between three resistances is 4 : 2: 3
