if R1 , R2 and R3 are connected in parallel, then the total resistance R of the combination is,

1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3

=> 1/R = 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/5

=> 1/R = (10 + 5 + 4) / 20

=> 1/R = 19/20

by taking reciprocal, we get,

R = 20/19 => 1.053 ohms ~ 1.05 ohms
