Three resistors are connected as shown in the following figure. Through the resistor 5 ohm a current of 1 A is flowing.
(a) What is the total resistance?
(b) What is the potential difference across AB and BC?
(c) What is the current through other two resistors?

V= I R =  1 x 5 = 5 volt

a)

 1 /Req = 1 / 10 + 1 /15

1/ req = 5 /  30

Req = 6

Now I = 5 / 6

I = 0.8 A

b ) potential difference across A and B

dv= (5 -0 )

dv = 5 volt

potential difference across A and C

dv =  { 5 + ( 0.8 x 6 ) - 0  }

dv = 9.8 volt

r total = 5 + 6 = 11 Ω
