three times the present age of father is equal to eight times the present age of son. eight years later father's age will be twice the son's age. find their present ages.

let sons age be 3x
then fathers age will be 8x
eight years later
(3x+8)2=8x+8
6x+16=8x+8
x=4
so sons present age=3x=12years
and fathers age =8x=32years Answer
