Let the age of son = x years
Age of father = 7 times son = 7*x
Present age:
Son's age = x+3
Father's age = 7x + 3
After 3 years:
Son's age = x+3+3 = x+6
Father's age = 7x+3+3 = 7x+6
Given, 7x+6 = 4*(x+6)
7x+6 = 4x+24
3x = 18
x = 6 years.....7x = 42 years...
Present age of father = 42+3 = 45 years
Present age of son = 6+3 = 9 years.
Hope it helps.
