This story is about a special craft of my area i.e. handmade fan. It all started with the development of simple handmade fans of some village ladies. They used it to comfort themselves and their families during summer. It was a necessity more than a craft, at that time because they did not have electricity at that time. Later it became popular. With time women started decorating it with thread work and cloths etc. It kept on evolving with time. People also made it with different materials. Now what you see is an amazing piece of art that people hang on their walls. Although it is not widely used at present but during load shedding, it proves to be a very beneficial tool.
