Through the same current flows through live wire or the filament of a bulb , yet only the latter glows. why?

Tungsten in the filament has both high resistance and high melting point, which enables it to withstand high temperatures developed by resistance. This accumulation of heat leads to the glow of the Tungsten filament. But in copper wire (live wire), due to its less resistance, current easily flows through it.
