The Tigris and Euphrates along with its tributaries, form a major river system in Western Asia.  Originating in the Armenian Highlands of eastern Turkey they flow through Syria and Iraq into the Persian Gulf. It is a part of the Palearctic Tigris–Euphrates eco region, which includes Iraq and parts of Turkey, Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Jordan.

Hope this helps.
