Namantar Andolan (English: Name Change Movement) was a Dalit movement to change the name of Marathwada University, in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India, to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University. It achieved a measure of success in 1994, when the compromise name of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University was accepted. The movement was notable for the violence against Dalits.

      In India, Renaming movement is always a note worthy movement in India. It is also known as Dalit and Neo-Budhhist movement. The focal point of this movement is to change the name of Marathawada University which is situated in Aurangabad at Maharastra.

                                        They wanted to name it Babasaheb Ambedkar University. It was a sixteen year long movement. Revolt against  the suffering of Dalit and Neo Budhhist made it famous. They achieved it on 1994.
