Pioneer for women's education in India was Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule. He also established the first girls' school in August 1848 in Maharashtra. He was a writer and advocated for caste equality. He mainly worked for untouchability, caste system, women education and empowerment. He coined the word for lower caste people that is DALIT. Mahatma Jyotirao Govindrao Phule is the full name of Mahatma Phule.
