Tim, a grade 9 learner refuses to do his homework. He believes nothing he does will make any difference, and he sees himself as doomed to fail in school. He enjoys being in nature, and not in the classroom. He battles to focus his attention on the here and now.
How can you, as a teacher, enhance his self esteem?

Answer:

For students like this I would give personal attention outside the classroom because these students are not that interested inside the classroom I would take him for a walk in nature and teach him the importance of education , schools, etc. from natural examples. I would show them that it's not like he doesn't have knowledge or he is not smart it's like he is just not interested in school subjects and before everything I would personally study that student find his weaknesses and strengths and show him his true interest and his smartness this would make him believe that he is smart and enhance hi confidence and then I would tell him to start paying attention in classes as it will show him how smart he is.

sometimes teachers need to teach outside the classroom for better result
