Given:

  • Average Speed = 80 km per hour
  • Time = 3 hours and 45 minutes

To Find:

  • Distance = ?

Solution:

Let's understand

Here,Average speed is given 80 km per hour and time is also given 3 hours and 45 minutes and we have to find distance.

We know that,

\large{\mathfrak{\underline{\fbox{Distance = Speed × Time}}}}

According to the question,

Firstly, we will multiply by 3 hours and after finding distance we will multiply with 45 minutes.

Now, put the value

 \sf \implies \: distance = 80 \times 3 = 240  \:km

Now,we will find distance by 45 minutes.

As we know,

\large\sf{\underline{\fbox{1 \:Hour = 60 \: Minutes}}}

Now, put the values

 \sf \implies \: distance = 80 \times  \frac{45}{60}  \\  \\  \sf \implies \: distance = 80 \times  \frac{3}{4}  \\  \\ \sf \implies \: distance = 60 \: km

Now, add the both distance

 \sf \implies \: distance = 240 + 60 = 300 \: km

Hence, Distance is 300 km.

Additional Information:-

  • Distance = Speed × Time
  • Speed = Distance/Time
  • Time = Distance/Speed
