Tin transforms from gray to white tin at 286 K and constant pressure of 1 atm. The
following thermodynamic data are available:
Cp= 21.6 + 18.2x10 'T. J mol'k for both gray and white tin
Heat of transformation (AH,9 ) = 2.1 J mol' at 286 K
(1) Calculate Gibbs energy change (AG) of the transformation at 286 K and 1 atm.
(2) Calculate AG of the transformation at 293K and latm.
(3) Is the transformation at 293K spontaneous?
