Tipu Sultan and Raja Ram Mohan Roy were not only leaders in their respective fields but were also social reformers. Inspired by the French revolution which dealt mostly with the upliftment of the poor, they took measures such as educating people about their rights and fighting against the social evils. These evils included sati, child marriage etc. Roy even started a movement called Brahmo Samaj due to it.
