Answer:
Tissue culture involves the use of small pieces of plant tissue (explants) which are cultured in a nutrient medium under sterile conditions. Using the appropriate growing conditions for each explant type, plants can be induced to rapidly produce new shoots, and, with the addition of suitable hormones new roots. These plantlets can also be divided, usually at the shoot stage, to produce large numbers of new plantlets. The new plants can then be placed in soil and grown in the normal manner.

Tissue culture.
Explanation:
- Tissue culture is a biological technique by which fragments or parts of a tissue of a plant or animal are transferred to an artificial conditions. In this artificial conditions, they are able to live and perform their functions.
- The cultured tissue can be a population of cells, a single cell or part of an organ.
- Tissue culture method is used to obtain healthy plants from the diseased plant.
For example: Healthy potato plants can be produced from a desired potato plant which is virus infected. It can be done by the process of tissue culture.
- The infected plant has its apical and axillary meristems virus free.
- Now, these apical and axillary merisetms are removed from the infected plant,
- Then they are grown invitro so that healthy potato plants can be obtained.
