i am really sorry friend but i think your question was a little bit wrong........
it should be why should one take small steps to prevent from slipping while walking on ice......?
here is the answer to this question......
it is because the center of gravity shifts longer as u take more steps. which needs more grip at u for the ground to keep u stable without falling. as the ice is a slippery surface, u will not be able to balance yourself enough to keep the center of gravity in your body's center.
