Determining the height of the person.

1) The given problem is the regression problem which gives the relationship between the variables. If the weight of the person is given then to determine the height of a person we formulate it as a regression problem.

3) where Y is called dependent variable and X is called independent variable means the value of Y depends on X but converse is not true.

4) The constant a is the y-intercept and  b is the slope of the line given in the equation.
