to explain the basic function of a electrostatic Exhaust hood,use in the kitchen,a physic professor prepare the above experiment:

he take a pet bottle, make a hole in the Bottle cap and put a peeled copper wire the way part stay out of the Bottle e the other inside the Bottle (almost in the bottom of the Bottle ) .Around of the bottle he put a strip of foil and he seal the bottle in the way the bottle is complet closed.

after this he open the bottle and use a piece of paper in fire,he fill the botthe of smoke and close the bottle again .

after that he use Van de Graaff generator to generate electrostatic charge and approached the bottle with full of smoke to the generate , connecting the base of the generate to the strip of foil and the copper wire to the generator ball.

in a fewl minutes the smoke disaper ,like if was sucked by the copper wire.

* the question is whats happen with the somoke *
