- If we assume that m1 and m2 are the masses of body and the weight respectively then the distance between their loop and wedge is represented by a1 and a2.
- From the principle of moment we know that m1ga1=m2ga2
- Then we can find out the mass of the body by m1=m2a2/a1
There are two methods to do this
- Either we can fix the arm length and vary the mass
- Or we can fix the mass and vary the arm length
