  • If we assume that m1 and m2 are the masses of body and the weight respectively then the distance between their loop and wedge is represented by a1 and a2.
  • From the principle of moment we know that m1ga1=m2ga2
  • Then we can find out the mass of the body by m1=m2a2/a1

There are two methods to do this

  1. Either we can fix the arm length and vary the mass
  2. Or we can fix the mass and vary the arm length
